The new Premier League season is less than 60 days away and the release of our 2023/24 fixtures has whet the appetite among Aston Villa supporters.
It promises to be a campaign with a difference following a strong 2022/23 in which the Villans secured seventh place, the club’s highest finish for 13 years, and a place in the Europa Conference League play-off round.
Villa’s opening-day opponents, Boxing Day clash, final-day fixture, we’ve picked out some key dates for your diary below…
Please note, all fixtures are subject to change. Our match away at Everton in Round 21 will take place on either the weekend of January 13 or 20 due to the return of the mid-season break and fixtures being split.
In addition, fixtures may be subject to movement from Saturday to Sunday due to the participation of ourselves and/or opponents in the Europa League or Europa Conference League the preceding Thursday. Villa will also enter the Carabao Cup in Round 3 this season due to our involvement in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Saturday, August 12
Villa will be away from home on the opening weekend for the fourth time in five seasons as they travel to Newcastle United. It promises to be enthralling start to the campaign at St James’ Park as Villa and the Magpies go head-to-head, live on Sky Sports (ko 5.30pm).
Saturday, August 19
Everton are the visitors to Villa Park for the club’s first home match of 2023/24. It will be a raucous occasion in B6 as the buzz of matchdays return, with the hosts looking for a repeat of their victory over the Toffees in their opening home fixture of 2022/23. Goals from Danny Ings and Emi Buendía helped secure a 2-1 triumph in August 2022.

Tuesday, December 26
Villa will be away from home on Boxing Day for the first time since 2018. A trip to Manchester United awaits in what will be the club’s fifth visit to Old Trafford in just over two years.

Saturday, March 2
Villa’s first-ever Premier League trip to Kenilworth Road is sure to be a popular choice for the club’s travelling away support. Our maiden Premier League encounter against the Hatters comes on home soil on Saturday, October 28.

Saturday, March 30
Wolverhampton Wanderers are the visitors to Villa Park as the midlands neighbours do battle for local bragging rights. Our first clash of 2023/24 comes at Molineux on Saturday, October 7.

Sunday, May 19
Our 2023/24 league season comes to a close against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, where Villa will be aiming to finish on a high against the Eagles. Unai Emery’s side will sign-off on home soil in front of our claret and blue faifthful against Liverpool the week previous.
