Jacob Ramsey and Cameron Archer progressed to the semi-finals of the Under-21 European Championship as England saw off Portugal 1-0 on Sunday evening.

Midfielder Ramsey completed 67 minutes of the quarter-final success before being forced off due to injury, while Aston Villa team-mate Archer was an unused substitute.

The Young Lions secured the narrow triumph courtesy of Anthony Gordon’s first-half strike in Georgia.

England, who are yet to concede a goal in the tournament so far, will now face Israel in the semi-finals on Wednesday (ko 5pm), having won 2-0 when the two sides met in the group stages.

It is the first time England have made it into the last four of the competition since 2017.
