Leon Bailey curled home the opener as the home side got off to a flying start after three minutes.

New signing Álex Moreno entered the action as an early replacement for Lucas Digne and saw his new side go 2-0 up via Emi Buendia.

Patrick Bamford pulled a goal back but Villa saw out the final few minutes to take all three points.
