Emi Martínez has been shortlisted for The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper Award at the prestigious ceremony.
The Aston Villa keeper has been nominated for the 2022 awards as part of a five-man shortlist.
Martínez has been recognised alongside Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Yassine Bounou (Sevilla), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid) and Ederson (Manchester City).
The Villa stopper is a key figure for the club and played a crucial role in Argentina's triumph at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, picking up the tournament's Golden Glove award in the process.
An expert panel selected the candidates for the players’, goalkeepers’ and coaches’ categories.
Public voting is open now on FIFA+ and will run until Friday, February 3. To cast your vote, click here.
FIFA will then announce the three finalists in each of the seven categories in early February.
Congratulations and good luck, Emi!
