Emi Martínez returned to Aston Villa’s starting XI for their Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers, although John McGinn missed out due to injury.

Goalkeeper Martínez, having celebrated World Cup success with Argentina, was named among the substitutes for the 2-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day.

Yet he was included in Villa’s starting line-up for the encounter against midlands neighbours Wolves, replacing Robin Olsen.

Midfielder McGinn, however, was not in the matchday 20 due a hamstring injury, which will also rule him out this weekend before being reassessed.

Matty Cash was recalled for the encounter at Villa Park as head coach Unai Emery made two changes from the triumph in north London, with Ashley Young handed the captain’s armband.
