Saturday’s home fixture against Leicester City will see the final stage of the club’s food & beverage kiosk improvements in the Lower Holte End.
Aston Villa’s brand-new ‘Tap + Go Holte Bar’ will be open for business, meaning supporters will be able to buy refreshments using state-of-the-art contactless technology.
Fans simply tap in with a payment card, grab food and drink items and exit the gates to enjoy the game – it’s that simple!
Come and experience the future of matchday food and drink - a slicker journey, with no cash/card pin payments and no long queues waiting to pay.
As with every innovation being introduced, there will be a trial period for fans to get used to the new technology, so we are kindly asking everyone to show patience during the initial bedding-in process.
Our new Tap + Go Holte Bar joins the self-order kiosks and self-pour drink command units which have also been introduced this season.
FAQs
What is the Tap + Go Holte Bar?
It's a new and improved rapid way to make your matchday food and drink purchases, minus the traditional check-out experience. Simply tap your payment card upon entry into the area, pick up your items and walk out of the exit gates. If you need a receipt, scan the QR code by the Tap + Go Holte Bar and you can access your receipt, or tap this link.
What are the benefits?
An improved fan experience with super quick service times. No need to wait to pay or even scan your items – the food and drink you pick up is automatically added to your ‘virtual cart’ and charged to you when you leave – a purchasing journey in seconds, allowing you to spend your matchday doing what you enjoy.
How do I use it?
There are entry barriers on the left-hand side of the kiosk. Please have your card out and ready as you approach the entrance, fans are able to use a contactless payment card or Google/Apple Pay.
Tap your card on the scanners at entry and walk through the barrier when it opens.
Pick up any items you want – if you change your mind, don’t worry you can put it back and will not be charged.
When you’re ready, exit via the barriers at the other end of the kiosk. If you would like a receipt, there’s a QR code you can scan just around the corner. Enjoy your food and drink!
How does it work?
Around 50 cameras work harmoniously with AI Camera Vision technology to track your matchday purchases and charge the card you tapped on entry into the Tap + Go Holte Bar.
How is my data protected?
No facial recognition or biometrics are used, ensuring privacy and anonymity for customers. Once inside, AI Camera Vision cameras anonymously track your purchases, creating a unique avatar for each individual, adding all items into your virtual cart and charging you upon exit.
