Álex Moreno is expecting a tough match when Aston Villa take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Cherries have found their rhythm recently, picking up three wins from their past four league matches after a slow start to the campaign.

And Moreno is wary of their threats as Villa seek to maintain their own upward trajectory.

He said: “They play well at home and it’s a very tough match.

“We must keep improving, keep working towards victory. Three points is very important.”

The Spaniard is fresh from returning to the fold after a frustrating spell on the sidelines stretching back to May.

Moreno marked his first appearance of the season with his maiden goal for the club in Thursday’s 2-1 win against Legia Warszawa, and he is delighted to be back in action.

“I feel good. It was the first surgery I’ve had in my life,” he said.

“It was probably the worst moment in my career, but now I’m motivated and stronger [than before].

“It was very tough and there were moments of frustration and setbacks, however I know that I’m strong in my mind and in my body.

“I worked very hard to recover, even on holidays. My family and friends helped me a lot to recover.”
