By Aston Villa FC

Aston Villa outlined the club’s vision for the future of Villa Park last month.

And following the release of CGI images and the submission of a planning application for the redevelopment and expansion of the stadium, the club would like to share an open letter from one of our long-standing season ticket holders.

In her letter, Anne Edwards outlined why she’s supporting the redevelopment of Villa Park and its surrounding areas, urging fellow Villans to do the same.

If you also support our ambitions for the future, please take a couple of minutes to read and sign the letter in order to benefit the planning application.

The club will be sharing the letter along with the list of supporters with Birmingham City Council's Planning Committee to support our application. The deadline for signing is 5pm on Thursday, September 22.

Open Letter

To Whom It May Concern,

I’ve been a supporter of ‘The Villa’ since I can remember and a Season Ticket holder for over 47 years in both the North Stand then The Trinity Road Stand. I whole-heartedly support the planning application submitted by the Club, and I invite all Villa fans to sign this letter in favour of redeveloping Villa Park and its surrounding areas.

Having spent time reading through the proposed plans, I can confidently say that the redevelopment will benefit all of us, including the local community and the wider region. The creation of Villa Live will be amazing and add a highlight to our experience on matchdays and it will also serve as a hub for the local area.

We all know and, of course, expect to be back in the top tier of world-class football, and the regeneration of Villa Park and its surrounding areas will add to this journey.

It will be a great feat to have a 50,000-seater stadium in Birmingham and will be amazing to see further events held in the city following this year’s unforgettable Commonwealth Games. This proposal will allow us to continue hosting these global events in the future.

This is a collective letter of support by the fans of Aston Villa Football Club, and we hope that you will take this into consideration. We look forward to seeing the outcome of the application.

Up the Villa!

Yours sincerely,
Anne Edwards, AVFC Season Ticket holder
