Aston Villa brushed aside Brentford 4-0 courtesy of three goals in a blistering opening 14 minutes at Villa Park.

Leon Bailey handed the Villans the perfect start as he converted from a well-worked corner routine with just two minutes on the clock.

And the hosts were soon in dreamland as Danny Ings swept in a second following a fine move and then slotted home a penalty to put Villa three goals to the good against a stunned Bees.

Ollie Watkins got in on the act after the break as he converted Villa’s fourth to cap a memorable afternoon for first-team coach Aaron Danks and his coaching staff as they took charge of the encounter.
