Filip Marschall, Seb Revan and Tommi O’Reilly were named in Aston Villa’s starting XI to face Cardiff City.

Goalkeeper Marschall, left-back Revan and midfielder O’Reilly were included in Unai Emery’s starting line-up for the Peter Whittingham Memorial Match at Cardiff City Stadium.

The young trio joined Tyrone Mings, Calum Chambers, Boubacar Kamara, Marvelous Nakamba, Emi Buendía, Ollie Watkins, Cameron Archer and captain Ashley Young in Villa’s XI.

Emery also named 11 substitutes, including a mixture of Villa’s first-team squad and talented teenagers, for the encounter in the Welsh capital.

The Memorial Match celebrates the life of former Villa and Cardiff midfielder Whittingham, who sadly passed away in March 2020 at the age of just 35.

The evening will also formally launch the PW7 Foundation, established in Peter’s memory, with all proceeds from the game supporting the charity.
