Peter Whittingham will be remembered on Wednesday evening when Aston Villa play Cardiff City in Wales.

The Peter Whittingham Memorial Match will celebrate the life of the midfielder, who sadly passed away in March 2020 at the age of just 35.

The evening will also formally launch the PW7 Foundation, established in Peter’s memory, with all proceeds from the game supporting the charity.

Cardiff City Stadium is the venue for the special occasion, which gets underway at 7pm. Find out below how you can follow the match.

Minute of applause

Peter began his career at Villa Park and was part of the side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2002 before going on to make over 400 appearances during a decade of service with Cardiff.

Both sets of supporters will have the chance to pay a special tribute to Peter when the match is paused after seven minutes for a minute of applause.

PW7 Foundation

The PW7 Foundation was founded in 2021 by trustees and close family members - Peter's wife Amanda, brother James, sister Rachel and mother Sally as a lasting legacy to Peter Whittingham, dedicated to supporting three very special charities and their vital work.

The charity help and support children and young people to improve their lives by working with Cardiff City FC Foundation, King Henry VIII school in Coventry, and Winston’s Wish.

Any supporters who can’t attend the game but would like to make a donation to the PW7 Foundation can do so via the charity’s website.
