Emi Martínez kept his first FIFA World Cup clean sheet to help Argentina to a 2-0 victory over Mexico in Group C.

Argentina couldn't afford to lose at the Lusail Stadium and they earned a decisive three points through second-half goals from Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernández.

Martínez had a quiet evening, but he did produce a stunning save and hold to keep out Mexico's one and only shot on target, a free-kick from Alexis Vega in the first half.

Argentina will aim to secure qualification when they go head-to-head with Matty Cash, Jan Bednarek and Poland at Stadium 974 on Wednesday, November 30, kick-off: 7pm.
