Jacob Ramsey found the net as England’s Under-21s secured a 4-1 victory over Andorra on Friday night.

The Aston Villa midfielder completed 82 minutes at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium and capped an impressive performance by registering his name on the scoresheet courtesy of a fine long-range strike.

With the Young Lions 1-0 ahead, Ramsey drilled home from 20 yards after the visitors failed to clear their lines, doubling England’s advantage in the 34th minute.

The hosts went on to run out comfortable winners and maintain their unbeaten record in qualifying for the U21 European Championship.

Villa team-mate Lucas Digne was an unused substitute as France sealed a late 2-1 friendly victory over Ivory Coast, the hosts netting an injury-time winner in Marseille.

Trézéguet helped Egypt to a crucial 1-0 victory over Senegal in the first leg of their World Cup play-off in Cairo.

The Villa wide man, who is currently on loan at İstanbul Başakşehir, started for the Pharaohs as an early own goal gave them a slender advantage heading into Tuesday’s second leg.

The winner of the play-off, which is a repeat of the Africa Cup of Nations final, will secure a place at the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo played 75 minutes as Finland’s U21s lost 2-1 to Romania in a friendly encounter.

The Villa teenager left the field as the clash entered the final stages, with Finland leading courtesy of a first-half strike.

However, the hosts struck twice late on to inflict an agonising defeat.
