Aston Villa unveiled new business networking group ‘VillaWorks’ at a launch event earlier this month.

Founded with the purpose of building business relationships through Aston Villa, the group will provide exciting opportunities to attend business and networking events for both existing and new regional and national companies.

The first of those events took place at Villa Park on January 20, based on the concept of ‘new year, new you!’ and the importance of looking after our physical and mental health & wellbeing.

Aston Villa Head of Nutrition Dr Marcus Hannon presented to the delegates on the importance of nutrition, both for first-team players and in everyday life, followed by an informative Q&A.

Aston Villa Foundation Health & Wellbeing Coordinator Michelle King subsequently gave an insight into her role and the projects offered by the Foundation, as well as discussing mental health first aid courses which will soon be available for companies to offer to their workforce.

Aston Villa Head of Hospitality and Catering Laura Worsey said: “VillaWorks has been in the planning stages for a while, due to the pandemic our launch has been delayed several times.

“We want an opportunity for like-minded business professionals to network in a relaxed environment while being able to use our iconic stadium for unique experiences.

“We had a fantastic launch event and we look forward to sharing more details on what 2022 has in store.”

Connecting all businesses in and around Birmingham, VillaWorks will help companies share knowledge and build long-lasting relationships.

The club will be hosting a variety of engaging networking and business events throughout the year, with opportunities to be involved in giveaways and prize draws.

The next event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8.
