The Brazilian scored on his debut last weekend, coming off the bench as a second half substitute.
And the former Liverpool hero has been given the nod from the start against the Toffees at Goodison Park.
His inclusion in the starting XI is one of two changes from the 2-2 draw against Manchester United last time out, with John McGinn returning in place of Morgan Sanson.
New signing Robin Olsen, who joined on loan from Roma in midweek, replaces Jed Steer on the bench.
