Trézéguet and Egypt kicked off their Africa Cup of Nations campaign on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pharaohs came up against Nigeria in Group D, losing 1-0 to a first half goal from Kelechi Iheanacho.
Trézéguet started and played 58 minutes before being replaced at Stade Omnisport de Garoua in Cameroon.
Egypt will now prepare for their second game of the tournament against Guinea-Bissau on Saturday, January 15 (ko 7pm).
