With the season now in the middle of a winter break, we've taken a look back at the season so far…

The next couple of Gameweeks could be big turning points in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers’ seasons. With multiple Double and Blank Gameweeks, as well as 14 Premier League matches still to be rescheduled, investing wisely will be key.

Jacob Ramsey (£4.7m) once again showed himself to be one of the best midfield options in the game with his two goals in Gameweek 24. Ramsey has now registered three double-digit hauls in the last six Gameweeks, making him the joint fifth-highest scoring midfielder over that period.

Ramsey is also the only regularly starting midfielder in the game to have 100% shot accuracy over the last six Gameweeks.

His expected goal involvement (xGI) stats in the same period rank higher than popular FPL assets such as Liverpool’s Diogo Jota (£8.5m) Leeds United’s Raphinha (£6.5m) and Manchester City’s Bernando Silva (£7.4m).

At just £4.7m, he is also available at a great price, allowing managers to play five midfielders, which is something that has been difficult without compromising the budget elsewhere.

Alongside Ramsey, Philippe Coutinho (£7.1m) has slotted back into the Premier League game as if he has never been away. Since his Villa debut in Gameweek 22, Coutinho has had eight penalty area touches, six shots in the box, two goals and one big chance. He has also created three chances for team mates - two of those labelled ‘big chances’ - and he has registered two assists.

With the Villans having now returned 10 goals across the last six matches, they are in fantastic form and investing in the midfield seems wise. Individually, Coutinho and Ramsey are owned by 7.03% and 5.15% of managers in the top 10k, however together they are owned by just 23 managers, making them a huge differential pair who could propel managers to FPL success in the coming weeks.
