Trézéguet’s Egypt finished runners-up at the Africa Cup of Nations as Senegal triumphed after a penalty shoot-out in Sunday’s final.
The AFCON showpiece finished goalless after extra-time and it was Senegal who emerged victorious 4-2 on penalties.
Aston Villa wide man Trézéguet was introduced as a 59th-minute substitute at the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde.
The final was a closely-fought encounter which went all the way, but it was seven-time winners Egypt who suffered heartbreak in the shoot-out.

Pharaohs goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal saved a seventh-minute spot-kick from Sadio Mane to prevent Senegal from taking an early lead in the final.
And it remained locked in stalemate until the end of normal time, with neither team subsequently separated during an additional 30 minutes, leaving Egypt to compete in their third shoot-out of the knockout stages.
But it was Senegal who were left celebrating to lift the trophy for the first time, Mane netting the winning spot-kick.
It came after Villa’s Bertrand Traoré also suffered penalty shoot-out agony with Burkina Faso in Saturday’s third/fourth-placed play-off.
You can both be proud of your efforts, Trézéguet and Bertrand!
