Aston Villa is delighted to announce Villa Park will host the first round of the FIM World Supercross Championship this summer.
WSX, the world’s newest global motorcycle racing championship, will return to the UK in 2023 after a successful pilot event last year.
Alongside rounds in Australia, France, Germany, Canada and southeast Asia, Villa Park will be the venue for this year’s curtain-raising event on Saturday, July 1.
Nicola Ibbetson, CCO from Aston Villa said: “We’re proud to be hosting the WSX British Grand Prix as this exciting sport expands across the globe.
“Alongside welcoming P!nk and Bruce Springsteen next summer, Villa Park is establishing itself as the perfect venue for a unique range of major events.”

Adam Bailey, SX Global CEO, added: “It’s incredibly gratifying to see our vision for a truly global supercross championship steadily coming to fruition.
“Our goals, while ambitious, are clear to elevate supercross to a global audience through a truly international calendar of events, visit diverse destinations that have well-established and passionate fan bases, and visit new regions where supercross can grow and flourish.
“Our pilot season was designed to test what is possible and prove that the sport of supercross has strong demand. The incredible fan response and attendance for events in Cardiff and Melbourne reinforced that our instincts were indeed correct, and we are now powered by strong momentum and interest.
“We are excited to continue to showcase this incredible sport to fans across the globe.”
