Aston Villa suffered a 2-1 defeat against in-form Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus put the hosts ahead on the half-hour mark, only for substitute Douglas Luiz to level matters straight from a corner, for the second time this season, within a minute of coming on in the second half.

Yet parity lasted three minutes in north London as Gabriel Martinelli converted what turned out to be the winner for the high-flying Gunners, who recorded a fifth successive Premier League victory.
