Kyrie Pierre scored twice as Aston Villa began their Under-18 Premier League campaign with a six-goal thriller against Southampton on Saturday.

The midfielder netted on the stroke of half-time to give the visitors a 2-1 lead at the break after teammate Kobei Moore had cancelled out Tommy-Lee Higgs’ opener.

Pierre then put Villa back in front following Rylee Wright’s equaliser minutes after the restart.
