Aston Villa Women lost 6-1 to Sevilla at Marbella Football Center on Friday.
Villa never got going against the Spanish side in sweltering conditions, and were four goals down at half-time.
Carla Ward handed a first appearance in claret & blue to Kenza Dali.
The French midfielder formed a trio with Ruesha Littlejohn and Laura Blindkilde Brown.
Elsewhere, Rachel Corsie captained the side in the heart of defence, while Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah spearheaded the attack following her four-goal outing against Coventry United.
Sevilla took the lead with 11 minutes on the clock when Cristina Martin Prieto found the top corner from the edge of the area.
The Spanish side then doubled their lead on 23 minutes when Ana Franco De La Vega rounded Anna Leat before slotting into an empty net after being played through on goal.
Villa did get their first sight of goal towards the end of the first half when Dan Turner headed a Sarah Mayling corner over the bar.
Sevilla wouldn’t wait for the second half to add to their lead, however.
Adding further goals in minutes 43 and 45 put the game out of sight before the half-time whistle was blown.
Ward brought on Freya Gregory and Emily Gielnik at the start of the second half for Maz Pacheco and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah.
Sevilla converted from a lightning-quick counter attack to make it five just after the hour-mark, before added a sixth 10 minutes later.
Villa did net a solitary consolation goal five minutes from time, as Gielnik found the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Next up is the visit of Liverpool at Bodymoor Heath on Wednesday afternoon.
