Aston Villa Women's opening home game of the 2022/23 season has been selected for live broadcast.

Carla Ward's side will take on Manchester City at Villa Park, one week after opening the campaign at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The league clash, due to take place at 14:00 on Saturday, September 17th, will now kick-off at 12:30 a day later and will be screened live on the BBC.

The fixture against the Citizens will be the fifth WSL meeting between the two clubs since the start of the 2020/21 season.

Villa opened their maiden WSL campaign against City at Villa Park back in September 2020.

Reading fixture change

In addition to our home opener being selected for live broadcast, our upcoming fixture against Reading has also seen alterations.

We were due to welcome the Royals to Villa Park on Sunday, November 20 (2pm ko) but will now face them at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on the same day.

This will now kick-off at the slightly later time of 6pm.
