Loan round-up: Davis leads the line for Forest

Keinan Davis helped Nottingham Forest continue their charge up the Championship table as they dismantled Blackpool 4-1 at Bloomfield Road.

The striker started and played 66 minutes as the Tricky Trees made it eight games unbeaten and moved up to seventh place.

Things didn't go so well for Cameron Archer, who was on the losing side as Preston North End conceded late in a 1-0 loss to Derby County. The result leaves them in 15th with seven games left to play. 

In the Premier League, Matt Targett played 90 minutes for Newcastle United on Sunday as they lost 5-1 against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Magpies took the lead and were level at half-time before Spurs ran riot in the second half.

Fred Guilbert’s Strasbourg moved up to fourth in Ligue 1 after earning a 1-0 success against RC Lens.

In Croatia, Lovre Kalinic captained Hajduk Split against NK Osijek, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw.

Kaine Kesler Hayden and MK Dons are in the promotion hunt in League One following a 2-0 home win against Shrewsbury Town, with the full-back playing 65 minutes.

Aaron Ramsey was replaced at half-time of Cheltenham Town’s 4-4 draw with Accrington Stanley, which saw the Robins score twice in injury time.  

Newport County dropped out of the play-off places in League Two with a 1-0 loss to Exeter City – despite the best efforts of Finn Azaz.

Louie Barry made his return from injury as Swindon Town played out a 0-0 draw with Rochdale.

In the National League North, Filip Marschall and Gateshead narrowly lost out 1-0 against Brackley Town and Seb Revan was unable to prevent Hereford going down 2-1 against Alfreton Town.

Anwar El Ghazi (Everton), Trezeguet (Istanbul Basaksehir), Wesley (Sport Club Internacional), Conor Hourihane (Sheffield United), Jaden Philogene-Bidace (Stoke City), Jed Steer (Luton Town), Tyreik Wright (Colchester United), Caleb Chukwuemeka (Livingston) and Arjan Raikhy (Grimsby Town) didn't feature for their respective clubs.
