Axel Tuanzebe says Aston Villa are fully focussed on taking three points against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.

The 23-year-old is desperate to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Wolves last weekend by putting in a big performance against the Gunners.

And with Mikel Arteta’s side just one point and one place above Villa in the table, Tuanzebe believes victory can be achieved.

Aston Villa take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

“Arsenal over the last few years have had a rocky spell, but it doesn’t mean they’re not going to perform come Friday,” he said.

“We still respect them, still think they’re a top side and they still play football in a top manner. We have our game plan and know what we need to do to win.

“They’re under pressure and need to win every game, teams like that can be very dangerous. They’ve got threats we need to nullify and then focus on how we beat them.”

Tuanzebe is in his third spell as a Villa player, having signed on loan from Manchester United in the summer.

And the defender is enjoying every moment of his latest stint in claret and blue.

He said: “It’s home for me here. It’s not like I’m in a foreign dressing room, I know the lads really well and I know the manager really well. I understand our playing style very well.

“I helped bring the team up to the Premier League and I had some unfinished business in the Premier League, so it’s good to be back.”
