Emi Martínez celebrated his 50th appearance for Aston Villa in Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace.
The Argentina international goalkeeper arrived at Villa Park in September 2020 and has been a revelation between the sticks ever since.
Martínez has kept 19 clean sheets during those 50 Premier League appearances for the club and established himself as one of the best keepers in the world – becoming Argentina’s No.1 in the process and shortlisted for the prestigious Yashin Trophy in 2021.

The fans’ favourite got off to a perfect start in claret and blue, saving a penalty on his debut against Sheffield United at Villa Park.
He went on to equal Brad Friedel’s club record for clean sheets in a single campaign in 2020/21, scooping the Supporters' Player of the Season award before then going on to help La Albiceleste to Copa América glory back in July, walking away with the Golden Glove in the process.
VillaTV sat down with Emi to look back on the last year or so in pictures, you won’t want to miss it…
