It’s been a tricky few weeks for the Villans, and after a disappointing result in Gameweek 10, Aston Villa fans and Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers alike will be hoping for some rocket-like performances on fireworks night this Friday.
FPL managers are always looking to invest in the right differentials at the perfect moment and this upcoming gameweek could be that time for Villa assets. Matty Cash (£5.1m) is currently owned by just 4% of managers and could be the perfect differential in defence. Cash currently sits top amongst defenders for touches in the opposition penalty box so far this season.
So far, the 2021/22 season has seen just 57 clean sheets over the opening ten weekends – an average of just 5.7 per gameweek. Therefore, attacking potential from FPL defenders is even more important when it comes to registering returns for their managers. This makes Cash a particularly attractive differential for the next few weeks.
Emi Buendia (£6.3m), much like his defensive teammate, could offer FPL managers an excellent differential option for Friday night’s trip as he is currently owned by just 1.1% of managers. Buendia returned his first assist of the season at the weekend and he will be looking to build on this in Gameweek 11.
The Argentine currently has the best expected assist (xA) total for Villa players when you look at midfielders in the £6.5m and under bracket across the division.
Buendia’s corner responsibilities also add to his appeal, as does his growing relationship with in-form striker Ollie Watkins (£7.3m) who has now returned in three of the last four Gameweeks.
