Matty Cash has been called up to the senior Poland squad for the first time ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.

Following talks between the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda and President of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza, Cash received confirmation of his Polish citizenship last Tuesday.

This made him available for selection by Paulo Sousa for the national team and the Poland Head Coach has named the Aston Villa defender in his squad for their upcoming qualifiers this month.

Cash could make his international debut against Andorra on Friday, November 12 at 7.45pm, before a possible home bow against Hungary on Monday, November 15 at 7.45pm.

Poland are currently second in Group I and are on course to secure a play-off berth, but with two games remaining, they could still climb above England and earn automatic qualification for the 2022 tournament in Qatar.

Congratulations, Matty!
