Dean Smith was left disappointed by the nature of the goals conceded and a lack of attacking creativity as Aston Villa fell to a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.
Goals in either half from Carlos Vinicius and Harry Kane, via the penalty spot, inflicted defeat on the Villans, who head into the international break 10th in the Premier League table.
And head coach Smith admitted it will be a long two weeks ahead before Villa get the chance to bounce back.
"I'm disappointed," he said. "There were some good bits but there were some bad bits.
"Unfortunately, the bad bits are the two goals we've conceded and our lack of quality in the final third.
"I thought our play up until the final third was quite good, I thought we started the game, the first 30 minutes, good and they scored against the run of play with their first effort.
"But when you're having good periods in this league, you've got to be creating opportunities and it's something we were doing earlier in the season and we haven't done lately.
"We've been working on it and players sometimes have to look in the mirror as well as us coaching staff do."
