Loan round-up: Hourihane bags winner for Swansea

Conor Hourihane scored the decisive goal as Swansea City got back to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday.

Steve Cooper's side travelled to Luton Town following their 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers in midweek and they came away with all three points thanks to Hourihane's strike inside three minutes. 

It was his fifth goal since arriving on loan at the Liberty Stadium in January and Swansea are now third in the Championship table, level on points with second-place Watford with a game in hand. 

In France, Frédéric Guilbert was on the losing side for the first time in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat away at Rennes. 

Benjamin Bourigeaud scored the only goal in the first half but despite the reverse, Strasbourg are still six points ahead of Nantes, who currently occupy the relegation play-off spot. 

Ally Samatta's Fenerbahce suffered a setback on Sunday as they fell further behind Turkish Süper Lig leaders Besiktas after losing 2-1 at home to Gençlerbirligi.

The Tanzanian striker came on as a second-half substitute with the scores level, but former Fulham winger Floyd Ayité scored the crucial goal for the visitors just after the hour mark. 

Lovre Kalinic was in goal for Hajduk Split on Saturday but their three-game winning run came to an end with a 1-1 draw away at Gorica. 

Hajduk fell behind early on to Nihad Mujakic own goal but they rallied before the interval to find an equaliser through Jani Atanasov, with the result moving Kalinic's side into the top four in Croatia. 

Tyreik Wright played the full 90 minutes for Walsall as they suffered a disappointing home defeat to Barrow while elsewhere in League Two, Indiana Vassilev was an unused substitute at Cheltenham Town won 1-0 on the road at Exeter City. 

Viljami Sinisalo's Ayr United were beaten 2-0 by runaway Scottish Championship leaders Hearts and Dominic Revan's Weymouth lost by the same scoreline at Wrexham in the fifth tier, with the centre-back playing the full 90 minutes.

Elsewhere in the National League, Cameron Archer made a substitute appearance as Solihull Moors were defeated 1-0 by Halifax Town, while Jack Clarke was an unused substitute for Chesterfield's 2-0 loss at Maidenhead United.

In Northern Ireland, Ben Guy came on as a substitute for Portadown but they were beaten 2-1 by Ballymena.

Callum Rowe's Hereford were not in action at the weekend.
