Bertrand Traore cut a frustrated figure after Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.

The wide man cancelled out Anthony Martial’s first-half opener when he slammed home his third goal in four games just before the hour mark at Old Trafford.

But Bruno Fernandes’ penalty shortly afterwards inflicted defeat in Villa’s first match of 2021, which proved to be an evenly-matched affair.

Speaking to VillaTV post-match, Traore said: “We are frustrated.

“We can be frustrated because at the end we played a good game. We couldn’t get a better result than a loss.

“We didn’t start the game very well and it cost us a lot.

“And then we came back very well in the second half, we got the equaliser and then the penalty decision changed the game.

“We can be frustrated.”
