Tyrone Mings had mixed emotions after Aston Villa’s goalless draw at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Villa claimed a share of the spoils at the Amex Stadium thanks to a superb goalkeeping display from Emi Martinez, who denied Leandro Trossard, Dan Burn, Joel Veltman and Danny Welbeck, among others, to ensure it finished a point apiece.
Defender Mings admitted Villa were below par on the south coast but, as part of a strong Villa backline, took the positives from being difficult to beat and a 12th clean sheet of the campaign.

Speaking to VillaTV post-match, the centre-back reflected on the encounter: “Disappointed with the performance.
“I think we lacked an intensity and an enthusiasm that usually is a staple of our game.
“To win any game in the Premier League you have to work hard, and I don’t think we had that.
“As a defender, to come away with a clean sheet and a draw when you don’t look like winning a game has to be a positive.
“It has to be something that we’re working on – which is being hard to beat. And that was positive.
“But I don’t think we were quite at it here, for some reason.”
