Conor Hourihane's fine start to his loan spell with Swansea City continued at the weekend, as he scored his second goal in as many games to inspire Steve Cooper's side to a 3-1 win over Rotherham United.

The midfielder marked his league debut with an equaliser against Brentford in midweek and he followed it up on Saturday with a stunning first-time strike to give Swansea the lead at the New York Stadium.

Swansea are now unbeaten in seven league games and they continue to occupy the second automatic promotion place in the Championship.

Lovre Kalinic made his third consecutive start for Hajduk Split but he couldn't stop his side from falling to back-to-back defeats, as NK Lokomotiva emerged victorious from a tight contest with a 1-0 win.

Kalinic's hometown club are currently sixth in the league table, with 20 points on the board from 17 games so far this season.

Tanzanian striker Ally Samatta couldn't add to his Fenerbahçe tally at the weekend but they edged Çaykur Rizespor 1-0 to go top of the Turkish Süper Lig.

Fenerbahçe are one point ahead of their closest rivals and Samatta's hopes of adding to his five goals so far this season will be boosted when Mesut Özil makes his debut following his January arrival from Arsenal.

Following his return from Burton Albion and subsequent switch to Cheltenham Town in League Two, Indiana Vassilev was given an immediate chance to make an impression from the bench.

He came on for the final seven minutes as Cheltenham drew 0-0 with Forest Green Rovers, a result that keeps the Robins in the play-off places.

Dominic Revan helped Weymouth to back-to-back wins in his first two games but they couldn't make it three out of three on Saturday, as the Terras were beaten 1-0 at home to Notts County.

Once again, Revan completed the full 90 minutes as he continues to gain valuable first-team experience.

19-year-old goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo helped Ayr United to an impressive 4-1 win over Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship, keeping up his record of starting every single league game so far this term in the process.

In Northern Ireland, Ben Guy started and played 71 minutes for Portadown against Warrenpoint, but they fell to a 2-0 home defeat.

Jack Clarke was an unused substitute for Chesterfield as they drew 2-2 away at Dagenham and Redbridge, Tyreik Wright's Walsall and Cameron Archer's Solihull Moors both saw their games called off due to a waterlogged pitch, while Callum Rowe's Hereford weren't in action this weekend.
