Trézéguet and Bertrand Traoré have been selected by Egypt and Burkina Faso respectively for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
The Aston Villa duo will depart for the major tournament on Monday, after the club’s Premier League clash against Brentford.
The competition, which has been rescheduled from 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, takes place in Cameroon.
Trézéguet has been named in Egypt’s 25-man squad by head coach Carlos Queiroz.
The Pharaohs are in Group D and will take on Nigeria on Tuesday, January 11 (ko 4pm), Guinea-Bissau on Saturday, January 15 (ko 7pm) and Sudan on Wednesday, January 19 (ko 7pm).
Egypt, who reached the Round of 16 in 2019, will be looking to triumph for the first time since 2010 having finished runners-up in 2017.

Traoré has been included in Burkina Faso’s squad and will open the tournament against hosts Cameroon in Yaounde on Sunday, January 9 (ko 4pm).
Burkina Faso, who reached the Semi-Finals in 2017, complete their Group A campaign against Cape Verde on Thursday, January 13 (ko 7pm) and Ethiopia on Monday, January 17 (ko 4pm) and will be looking to repeat their 2013 run to the Final.
Marvelous Nakamba’s knee injury has unfortunately ruled him out of being involved in the tournament for Zimbabwe, who are in Group B.
Zimbabwe face Senegal, Malawi and Guinea as they look to progress from the group stages of the tournament for the first time.
Congratulations and good luck, Trézéguet and Bertrand!
