Axel Tuanzebe is excited to be back at Aston Villa and says he has “unfinished business” at the club.

The defender has sealed his return to Villa on a season-long loan from Manchester United, having enjoyed two previous loan spells at Villa Park.

Tuanzebe joined for the second half of the 2017/18 campaign before a season-long stay in 2018/19 as the club secured promotion back to the Premier League, starting the Championship play-off final against Derby County at Wembley.

And the 23-year-old is thrilled to be back in the top flight with the club.

Asked why he wanted to make the move to Villa, Tuanzebe said: “We’ve got history, unfinished business.

“The manager reached out to me and he said there would be opportunities here to play.

“The way the team is heading, there’s a lot of positivity within the dressing room, a lot of good talent and I want to be on board with something that’s progressing and growing.”

He added: “I’m very excited.

“I think there’s been some good changes to the training ground, new facilities, it looks very good.

“The team is young, full of energy so I’m very excited to play.”
