Tyreik Wright found the net for Salford City as they brushed aside Newport County 3-0 in League Two on Saturday.

The on-loan Aston Villa forward took less than a minute to put the Ammies into the lead and register his first goal for the club in only his third appearance.

Wright played 63 minutes of the victory, which was Salford’s first of the season.

Villa team-mate Finn Azaz was not involved for Newport, who sit 15th in the table, one point and one place above City.

Elsewhere in League Two, Kaine Kesler-Hayden again completed 90 minutes as fourth-placed Swindon Town saw off Mansfield Town 1-0 on Saturday.

Brad Young stepped off the bench for Carlisle United to play the final 17 minutes of their 2-1 defeat to Hartlepool United.

In League One, Louie Barry was an unused substitute for Ipswich Town as they drew 2-2 against AFC Wimbledon at Portman Road – their third draw of the campaign to date.

In the National League, Arjan Raikhy enjoyed an impressive debut for Stockport County as he completed 54 minutes in their 1-0 win over Southend United on Saturday, recording a first success of the season.

Seb Revan was an unused substitute as Grimsby Town opened their campaign with a 1-0 triumph over Weymouth.

Goalkeeper Ákos Onódi helped Bromsgrove Sporting to a 2-1 victory over AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the Southern League Premier Central.

In the United States, Indiana Vassilev appeared off the bench as a 67th-minute substitute as Inter Miami CF played out a goalless draw at high-flying Orlando City.

The point leaves them in 11th place in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Wesley, having completed a season-long loan move to Club Brugge on Saturday, was not involved as they lost heavily 6-1 at Gent on Sunday.

Lovre Kalinić was also not involved as HNK Hajduk Split lost 2-1 at home to fellow high-fliers HNK Rijeka.
