Emi Buendía admitted it felt “amazing” to get his first goal for Aston Villa in front of the club’s supporters.
The Argentinian summer signing opened his account for the club in the 13th minute of Saturday’s encounter against Brentford.
He received the ball from Danny Ings on the edge of the penalty area and turned neatly to create space before curling a super effort beyond Bees goalkeeper David Raya.
It cancelled out Ivan Toney’s early opener and sparked wild scenes among the majority of the 42,045 fans inside Villa Park.
Asked about his maiden Villa strike, Buendía told VillaTV: “It was amazing.
“To score my first goal for the club, at Villa Park, with the fans, the whole stadium full, is an amazing feeling.
“I’m very happy for this.”
He added: “Their support (the fans) means a lot for us, for the team.
“They push us until the last minute to get the win, (we're) unlucky we didn’t get the result we wanted but this is the way to get a better result.”

Buendía’s brilliance secured a 1-1 draw against newly-promoted Brentford in a hard-fought game in which both sides went on to create openings, substitute Ollie Watkins twice going close in added time.
Despite opening his account, the creative playmaker was naturally frustrated not to go on and collect all three points from the game.
The draw leaves Villa with four points from their opening three Premier League matches heading into the forthcoming international break.
Buendía added: “It was disappointing we didn’t get the result but we worked very well during the game, I think we deserved a bit more.
“But this is football.
“Now we’ve got the break and we come back stronger, for sure, after the international break.”
