Wednesday, May 26, 1982 is a date forever etched in Aston Villa history and the minds of the club’s loyal supporters.
A memorable 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich on a warm night at De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam clinched the most prestigious prize in club football.
And in our 40th anniversary season, we’ve paid tribute to that truly unforgettable success.

Our 2021/22 Kappa away kit is built around the iconic white base with claret pinstripes on the front, as well as containing a double round neck and contrasted collar.
To celebrate 40 years since that famous night, a claret star is proudly displayed at the top of the reverse including the inscription ‘1981-1982’.
Both the KOMBAT ™ PRO 2022 and the replica version of the kit will again feature a 3D silicone Villa crest, which along with both the Kappa and Cazoo logos will all feature in monochrome claret.
Contrasted sleeves in white and claret, the sky blue inside collar tape, as well as claret and azure details at the end of the sleeves and at the bottom back inserts bring dynamism to the shirt.
Principal partner Cazoo, the UK’s leading online car retailer, will proudly feature their branding across all shirts, including junior and infant kits, ensuring Villa’s younger fans will once more be able to wear the same as their heroes.
Following record demand for this season’s home kit, the club’s new away strip is again available in all ranges of size and including men’s, women’s, juniors and infants fit, as well as Standard and Pro editions (men’s only).
The KOMBAT ™ PRO 2022 version worn on-pitch by the players themselves will feature Kombat Pro System technology, synonymous with ultra-resistant, elastic and breathable material within the main fabric, a precision fit design which shapes to your body allowing total freedom of movement.

Upload a photo of yourself to social media wearing either of our new 2021/22 kits and use the hashtag #WeAreVilla to appear on our digital AVFC Fan Wall, which will be displayed on the club’s official website, big screens at Villa Park and more.
Join us to celebrate the launch of our new away kit with a meet-and-greet opportunity alongside four of the club’s heroes from our European Cup triumph.
Gordon Cowans, Gary Shaw, Kenny Swain and Colin Gibson will be at the Villa Store at Villa Park between 5-7pm on Friday, July 30 to meet supporters, pose for photos and sign autographs. For more details, click here.
The Villa Store will be open from 12noon-8pm on Friday, July 30 and the following hours this weekend:
Saturday, July 31 - 9am-6pm
Sunday, August 1 - 10am-4pm
The store will then revert to normal trading hours from Monday, August 2 onwards (Mon-Sat 9.30am-5.30pm and Sun 10am-4pm).
