Wesley is set to start for Aston Villa’s Under-23s in their Premier League 2 clash against Wolves on Friday afternoon, which is live on VillaTV (ko 3pm).
The striker has been sidelined since suffering knee ligament damage against Burnley on New Year’s Day in 2020.
Wesley stepped up his recovery last Friday as he pulled on a claret and blue shirt for the first time in almost 15 months, taking part in the first 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly against West Bromwich Albion.
And the Brazil international is ready to take the next step on his road to recovery on Friday afternoon as he makes his competitive return for Villa at Bodymoor Heath.
You can watch Wesley in action for Villa’s U23s against midlands neighbours Wolves, live on VillaTV.
Fans can buy a match pass for £1.99, with all proceeds going to the Aston Villa Foundation.
VillaTV will bring you live match coverage, audio commentary, replays, pre-match build-up including an interview with U23s boss Mark Delaney plus news and views from the club at half-time - with the action getting underway at 2.45pm.
