The South American section of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup continued on Tuesday night, with both Douglas Luiz's Brazil and Emi Martínez's Argentina maintaining their 100% records.

Both nations got off to the perfect start last week and were looking to make it six points from six, as the Seleção travelled to Peru while Lionel Scaloni's side made the trip to Bolivia.

This is how they got on...

Brazil

Douglas Luiz impressed on his first competitive international appearance against Bolivia last Saturday and he kept his place alongside Casemiro and Philippe Coutinho in midfield for a tough test away from home.

Wearing the number eight shirt, the Villa midfielder once again completed the full 90 minutes as Tite's side came from behind twice to take all three points in stunning fashion.

André Carrillo and Renato Tapia struck as Peru looked set to cause an upset, but the hosts had two players sent off and Neymar scored a hat-trick to go second on the list of Brazil's all-time top goalscorers behind Pele, with Everton's Richarlison also on target.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar grabbed the headlines, but Douglas Luiz received plenty of plaudits from the Brazilian media after another top individual display.

Argentina

Emi Martínez was an unused substitute for Argentina's win over Ecuador last Friday and River Plate goalkeeper Franco Armani kept his place for the trip to Bolivia.

Like their great rivals, La Albiceleste went behind on the night with Marcelo Martins Moreno giving Bolivia the lead after 24 minutes.

For the first time since November 2016, a player other than Lionel Messi scored in a World Cup qualifier for Argentina, as Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez equalised before Joaquin Correa struck the winner on 79 minutes.

The results leave Brazil and Argentina as the only two nations with 100% records in the CONMEBOL section of qualifying, with South America's big two set to face off during the March international break.
