Aston Villa’s scoring form in October was great news for the Aston Villa Foundation, thanks to Principal Partner Cazoo’s ‘Golden Goals’ initiative.
The online car retailer has pledged to donate £1,000 to the Foundation for every Premier League goal scored by Villa this season, and Dean Smith’s team found the net eight times in their three October fixtures.
A remarkable seven of those strikes came in an unforgettable win against reigning champions Liverpool before Ross Barkley struck the only goal of the game against Leicester City.
October’s goal fest saw the overall total rise to £12,000 as the club’s fine start to the season yielded four wins from five games.
The donations will help the Foundation and their work in the local area as well as the wider Birmingham community, an endeavour which Cazoo immediately identified as one they wanted to support when they became Principal Partners at the end of last season.
