Matty Cash is enjoying every minute of his first season with Aston Villa, as part of the defensive unit that has kept three clean sheets in our opening five Premier League games.
The full-back was Dean Smith’s first signing of the summer back in early September, with Cash signing a five-year deal on arrival from Nottingham Forest.
Nearly two months later, he sat down with VillaTV to discuss the season so far and he revealed that his teammates have made the transition very easy for him.
Cash said: “We’re five games in and we have won four, so it’s been a fantastic start and I’ve settled in really well.
“It’s a great group of lads and we have great staff.
“Every day on the training field we’re working really hard and the banter around the group is really good, so they’ve made it nice and easy for me to settle in.”

Along with Emi Martínez, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings and Matt Targett, Cash has started every league game so far this season.
The 23-year-old’s one-on-one defending has earned plaudits and his performances have already seen him become a favourite with the Villa faithful, which is something that he appreciates.
“I give 100% in everything that I do, whether that’s on the training pitch or at Villa Park on a Saturday,” he explained.
“It’s always nice when the fans take to you and they are obviously seeing that.
“I back myself in one-on-one situations and I like a challenge.
“The way that we have defended has been brilliant, last week we got beat which was tough to take but we’ll show now that we’re ready to bounce back.”
Villa have the chance to get back to winning ways against Southampton and Cash believes that we will see a positive response on Sunday.
“The reaction in training has been really good, we have won four out of five, which is brilliant in this league, so we have to move on to a massive game at the weekend.
“Every team in this league is a very good team, I’m sure we’ll be ready for it.”
