Aston Villa is delighted to announce that with the help of Cazoo Golden Goals, the Aston Villa Foundation is able to offer free spaces on our October half term Soccer Schools for children aged 5-12 years old with family members in the emergency services, including the police force and fire service, NHS or armed forces community.
The spaces will be available at the Foundation’s Soccer Schools in Aston, Tamworth, Burntwood and Sutton Coldfield and limited spaces are available.
Cazoo launched Golden Goals at the start of the season and will donate £1,000 to the Aston Villa Foundation for every goal scored by the first team in the Premier League this season.
Since the beginning of the season, £12,000 worth of goals have been scored for the Aston Villa Foundation. This new ‘Golden Goals’ charitable initiative could raise up to £50,000 for the charity this season, which will be spent on a range of projects to benefit the community.
Mihai Gherasim, Football in the Community Manager, said: “It's fantastic to be able to pay our respect and give back to some of the people who worked really hard on the front line during this challenging time. We would like to thank everyone for all the hard work and support throughout this pandemic.”
Alex Chesterman OBE, Founder & CEO of Cazoo said: “We are delighted to be supporting the Aston Villa Foundation, a great charity that delivers essential projects and provides opportunities to people in the local communities around Birmingham. It’s been an exciting and rewarding season so far and we look forward to further goals that will continue to help the Foundation with their incredible work in and around the community.”
Guy Rippon, Head of Foundation and Community, said: “We can’t thank Cazoo enough for their generosity and support through the Golden Goals scheme. Thanks to Golden Goals we are able to offer the fantastic ‘Blue Light’ soccer school activities in October half-term for children of emergency service workers and we think this is a fitting first project to run since the initiative was first announced.”
