The Young Lions were looking to rebound after their first defeat of the season last time out, but they fell behind when Kazeem Olaigbe put the visitors in front after 13 minutes.
Striker Brad Young has been in tremendous form for Villa this season, and he pulled his team level on the stroke of half-time with his fifth goal of the season.
The match was delicately poised as the second half wore on, but that all changed within three minutes as Saints took a 3-1 lead.
