Ezri Konsa cut a disappointed and frustrated figure after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Danny Welbeck and Solly March found the net for the visitors either side of Konsa’s leveller, his second goal of the season, ensuring Aston Villa were left empty handed.
Konsa, while naturally pleased to get on the scoresheet, quickly stressed it was all about securing points and not personal plaudits.
And the defender felt Villa spurned enough big opportunities to have secured reward from the game.
“Very frustrated, we all are,” Ezri told VillaTV.
“I felt like we had a lot of big chances, especially in the first half, where I felt we should have scored goals.
“I think we all know that if we score those big chances then we win the game.”
He added: “They were two sloppy goals to give away.
“We know we’re better than that and we’ve proved that throughout the season.
“We’ll go into training on Monday, go through the clips and see where we can improve.”
