Conor Hourihane was named in Aston Villa’s starting line-up to face West Ham United on Monday night.

The midfielder was given the nod at London Stadium, replacing Ross Barkley in Dean Smith’s XI, to make his 150th appearance for the club.

Hourihane’s inclusion was the only change to the side who started last weekend’s defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, which saw Barkley limp out in the opening minutes due to a hamstring strain.

Jacob Ramsey came into Villa’s matchday 18 and started on the bench.

Villa: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Targett, McGinn, Luiz, Hourihane, Trezeguet, Watkins, Grealish (c).

Subs: Steer, Taylor, Elmohamady, Nakamba, Ramsey, El Ghazi, Traore.
