Aston Villa Under-18s got their season off to a winning start on Saturday, beating Leicester City 2-1 at Bodymoor Heath.

Kahrel Reddin got the hosts off to a flyer, handing his side the lead after just three minutes.

And things got even better for Sean Verity’s team on the half hour mark when Brad Young doubled their advantage.

Leicester pulled one back five minutes later, but that’s how it stayed as Villa made a winning start to their U18 Premier League South campaign.

The Young Lions were one of four teams to make winning starts in their 13-team league, leaving them fourth in the table.

Villa continue their league campaign on Saturday when they travel to East Anglia to take on Norwich City.
