Aston Villa wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
New signing Ollie Watkins marked his first game for the club with the only goal after 16 minutes at Villa Park on Saturday.
The striker dived to head home Trezeguet’s right-wing cross from close range after the Egypt international had been found by a super cross-field pass from captain Jack Grealish.
Fellow summer signing Matty Cash also lined up in the behind-closed-doors friendly, as Dean Smith’s side gained valuable minutes ahead of the start of their 2020/21 campaign.
Villa travel to Burton Albion on Tuesday night for their Carabao Cup Round Two tie before hosting Sheffield United on Monday, September 21 in their opening Premier League fixture.
