Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has received his first international call-up to England’s senior squad.
Grealish links up with the Three Lions for their UEFA Nations League matches against Iceland and Denmark in early September.
The Villa skipper, 24, joins his England team-mates at St. George’s Park in preparation for Saturday’s fixture against Iceland in Reykjavik before facing Denmark in Copenhagen on Tuesday, September 8.
He has been added to England’s squad by Gareth Southgate and links up with Villa team-mate Tyrone Mings, who has again been called up for duty following his bow in October 2019.
Grealish will be hoping to make his senior international debut for the Three Lions having represented England at Under-21 level, enjoying 2016 Toulon Tournament success under Southgate.
The versatile attacking midfielder has been rewarded for his impressive form during the 2019/20 season, in which he scored 10 goals and recorded eight assists in all competitions.
His displays saw him claim both the club’s Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Season awards, while he was also shortlisted for the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award.
Congratulations, Jack!
