GCSE results have now been released and the Aston Villa Foundation’s Football and Education courses are accepting students for September 2020.

The courses are open for Year 11 leavers and are a great way to gain qualifications whilst representing the Foundation.

The courses are held at Shelfield Academy, Aston Manor and Halesowen College, providing a variety of location options for potential students.

Last season was a great year of results for the Football and Education courses. 100% of students passed the course, with 18% receiving a Distinction, 64% receiving a Merit and 18% receiving a Pass.

After completing the course, 30% went on to higher education, 40% went on to sports-related employment and 20% are in employment/apprenticeships.

Andy Coley, the Foundation’s Football and Education Manager, said: “Last season was a great year for Football and Education, and we were delighted with the results that students received, a result of all of the hard work that was put in.

“We are looking forward to September and welcoming a new cohort to our Football and Education courses.”
